Summer in the City

Summer in the City is a summertime happy hour event for young professionals where guests can enjoy an open bar, listen to great music, win drawing prizes, meet new people, and support CFR!
This year’s event will be held on Wednesday, July 31st at 8:00 p.m. at the Hotel Chantelle at 92 Ludlow Street.

Jeans for Families
Jeans for Families is a fundraising campaign involving New York City law firms, corporations, and other organizations. All eligible employees are permitted to wear jeans to work in exchange for a donation to CFR. Since 2008, Jeans for Families participants have included: Allen & Overy LLP; Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft LLP; Cowan, Liebowitz & Latman LLP; Fish & Richardson PC; Kirkland & Ellis LLP; Proskauer Rose LLP; Sidley Austin LLP; and Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal LLP.

Backpack Drive
To help CFR’s families kick off the school year right, the Junior Board provides brand new backpacks filled with school supplies to hundreds children, from pre-K through 12th grade. In addition to individual donations, the Junior Board partners with companies and law firms to assemble bags for distribution.

Holiday Party & Gift Drive
Throughout the holiday season, the Junior Board collects funds and donations for an annual Holiday Party for CFR’s families. Children and families enjoy music, snacks, crafts, and a visit from Santa! Each family receives a gift bag filled with toys, books, personal care products, gift certificates, and cold weather clothing. The party is also a very special opportunity for you and your company to volunteer during the holiday season.

Mix, Mingle & Share – the Annual ‘Friendraiser’
Each spring, the Junior Board hosts an annual “friendraiser” event to recruit new Junior Board members and volunteers. For the past few years, the event has been graciously hosted by Proskauer Rose LLP, and has included complimentary cocktails and appetizers. Members of the CFR Junior Board, staff, and Board of Directors provide a short presentation so guests can learn about CFR’s mission and the Junior Board’s activities.
